About the Trip.
Why.
In-between jobs, I decided "Hey, why not take some time to do some serious travel!"  Not just a 1-2 week trip. Inspired by some of my friends' trips, I wanted a 3-4 month adventure!
How.
So I used 100,000 frequent flier miles (accumulated from my consulting job) to book a free round the world trip.  I spent about week in each city/country on the left nav. I had a nice balance of going solo and meeting up with friends, like my college roommate, a co-worker, fellow travelers, and other friends along the way. Three of my friends back in the states got so amped by this web site, I persuaded them to join me on the road for a few cities - just so they could be in the photos!

When: Two legs: Asia and Euro-Mediterranean
What about this web site?  Created 100% on the road!  At the end of each week, I spent an afternoon at some Internet cafe to do a brain/camera dump. I posted text and uploaded photos to this site.  Family and friends followed my adventures as they were happening and give me advice.
Where:  You see, I've always been an Indiana Jones fan. So I donned my Indy Kev hat to hit up cities with accent on the ancient: Wonders of the World.  Here are the Wonders, in case you were wondering:

What's a Wonder of the World?
Of the seven Ancient Wonders of the World, only the Pyramids still exist.  So, various groups have made up their own Wonderlists, including the Forgotten, Modern, Natural, and even Engineering Wonders.  For the trip, we're very inclusive: we're counting all of these as Wonders!  Makes it easier to see more that way!
