GETTING READY: VISAs, part 1 of 3
First step is get any required visas, like for India, Russia and Egypt.

So, while I'm in Toronto on a family reunion, I decide to stop by the India Consulate to get a visa.  But the lady at the counter tells me that U.S. citizens have to get visas in the U.S. Makes sense.  She recommends I go to the India consulate in San Francisco. Meanwhile, heck, Toronto has a few Wonders of the World of its own, so I check them out!  The tour begins!

First, I stop by the CN Tower.   A society of engineers ranked this tallest free-standing tower one of the Engineering Wonders of the World in 1995.   There's a movie, ride and revolving restaurant up top.

After the reunion, my cousin Kim offers to drive me and my brother Jason to see the July 1 Canada Day fireworks over the falls, about 1.5 hours from Toronto.  Coolness.  So we drive down, ditch the car in a packed parking garage, and run down just in time to catch the falls at dusk.

As night falls, huge spotlights make a rainbow of reds, blues and yellows on the falls making the thousands of people lining the banks of the river ooh and ahh.  We find a good spot to watch.  My bro Jason thinks that our parents spent their honeymoon at the Falls, which makes this natural Wonder of the World also the place I was conceived!  Kinda strange to think about.   Then the fireworks begin right above the river.  The exploding balls of light are so close it almost feels like we're in the explosion - a very cool, surreal expereince!   Catching fireworks above a WoW's definitely gets bonus points!

The CN Tower rises high above Toronto's...palm trees? OK, so those are really the fake palm trees atop the Wayne Gretsky rooftop restaurant/bar.
